My First Balloon Giveaway!

A few weeks ago, I did my first ever balloon giveaway on a local mom group on Facebook, Mama's for Mama's-Kamloops.

When I was planning the give away, I didn't know what to do. In that group's rules, you cannot say "one like = one vote". No stipulations like that, So I didn't know how successful the draw could be without that. Then I had to worry about what to make.

One day I decided I was just going to do it. I was in a Mario mood so I built a balloon Mario, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and Bowser. I have tried to build a Bowser before and it didn't work but I found a new idea and that one did work! I hadn't made a Toad before either, and his mushroom hat was challenging. I ended up using a red and white polka dot balloon and an "apple twist" (an Apple Twist is where you twist a round balloon to sort of look like a donut). I ended up happy with how he turned out. Yoshi was also a new one for me. I had just gotten a shipment of 646's (a 646 is a balloon that is 6 inches wide and 46 inches long fully inflated) so decided to use those for his cute round belly and his nose. I was quite pleased with the set as a whole.

Once I finished building the balloons, I messaged the Admin of the page for permission and posted the giveaway. Then it was up to the universe to figure it out.

I had an overwhelming response. I had 135 entrants, and the group members on my page over doubled. I had requests left right and center for ideas, new parties booked, it was great! As I had the entrants number themselves off, I used Google's random number generator and it was lucky number 8! The winner picked up her balloons that afternoon and her kids looked really surprised when mom came out holding a ton of Mario balloons!

All in all I had fun doing the give away and I view it as a success. I am very happy to see my little ballooning community grow the way it has <3
