FAQ

The Answers You Need, Right Now

I love answering questions, but I also love it when people can get on with their day as quickly as possible. So to save you the time asking me questions that can be answered quickly, take a scroll through and see if you can find the answers you're looking for.

Where are you located?

Kamloops BC Canada. Specifically the North Shore

What do you charge?

Every creation is different, and so my pricing varies significantly from project to project. As a rule of thumb, regular, small and medium twisting balloons (not finished piece, just the balloon used) are $1.25 per balloon used and specialty, large, and extra-large twisting balloons are $1.50 per balloon. I do price out custom orders as well. Delivery fees are extra.

How much notice do you need for orders?

The earlier the better! As a general rule, more than 2 weeks. I can expedite things if needed but will be forced to charge additional shipping costs.

Do you require a deposit? If so, how much?

For orders where I have the balloons in stock, 50% of the price. For custom orders, it’s the cost of materials.

What is your cancellation policy?

You must cancel 3 weeks in advance to receive a full refund. If I have ordered items specifically for your order then your deposit is forfeited. There is a two week shipping time. So I order 3 weeks in advance so if something is wrong, it can be expedited.

Do you volunteer your services?

Although I would love to be able to donate to every cause, it’s simply not feasible. Therefore I make an effort to create balloons for at least one worthy cause I believe in, per year.

Are there any risks with balloons?

Yes. Popped balloons can pose a choking hazard for small children. Therefore parents are required to supervise children playing with balloons.

How long do your balloons last?

If they are strictly treated as decorative pieces, you can easily see 1 week of them looking great! If they are played with then they will decay faster.

Do you do live parties?

As of May 2019, I have started doing live events! You may have seen me at AE Perry Elementary School's Carnival, or at the Kamloops Minor Baseball League Challenger Jamboree! I offer these services starting at $65 per hour. I come with a menu board, a table cloth, and of course, balloons! It is up the event coordinator to supply a table and tent (tent is only if the event is outdoors). The complexity of designs on the menu board varies with the expected number of guests. For example, if you have 10 kids and book me for 2 hours, I have time to make some really cool stuff! But if its a large event with 400 kids, speed is a priority so designs are simplified. I reserve the right to swap out menu items depending on how busy the event gets (slow down, fancier stuff. Speeds up, simple stuff). Also, friendly reminder BALLOONS CAN POSE A CHOKING HAZARD TO SMALL CHILDREN! I will not give a balloon to a child under the age of 3 without a parent's consent.

How can I transport my balloons safely?

Balloons are very heat sensitive. So to transport them safely, keep the air conditioning on the vehicle. I also recommend having a big thick duvet to lay down, just so they don't make contact with the heat of your seats. This is especially important if your seats are leather.

Is there anything you won’t make?

I will not make balloon headbands or hats. When I see them, I immediately envision them popping and hitting someone in the eye. So for my piece of mind, no headbands or hats.

Where did you learn how to make balloon art?

The back of my mom’s SUV. No seriously. As a kid, my mom bought me a book on how to make balloon animals and since this was before the days of iPads, it’s how I entertained myself on car rides.

How can I learn to balloon twist?

There are so many incredible resources available for you to learn! First of all, you can buy twisting balloons and a pump from most dollar stores (recommended for beginners to limit expenses if you aren’t sure about it). Sometimes the dollar store will have instructional books that come in packs, but if not, there are tons of awesome tutorials on Youtube. My personal favourites include Mr. Boma’s Balloons, Balloon Animals, Sergey Loginov, Twister Sisters, and Taylor Ann Art. Also, you’re welcome to ask me for advice :)

Are my psychic powers failing me and I missed your question? Please send me a message and ask away! If you have a question, others may have the same question and so asking me will give me the ability to solve it for others as well!
