About Me

Making smiles one balloon at a time

Hello!

My name is Lila and I am a local, Kamloops based balloon artist with a love of decor, learning, and bringing ideas to life. To celebrate that, I figured I should tell you how I got to this place.

When I was 7 years old there was a book fair at my elementary school. That was where I saw a kit that had an instructional book, a balloon pump, and long twisting balloons. I went home and asked my mom for it and so began my balloon twisting journey.

From there, whenever we were on a road trip out to Alberta I would sit in the back seat of the car, making balloon animals the whole way. Every time we got anywhere the car was full of balloons.

Through highschool, it wasn't cool to be a balloon artist so it took a backseat. Then when I was 21 my best friend was feeling a little down, and her birthday was coming up. I decided I was going to go all out for her birthday, including sneaking into her house and making a giant net of balloon animals and fun balloons fall on her when she opened the door to come home. So I got out my old balloon twisting stuff, bought some balloons and made my first complicated balloon, a ninja turtle.

And so my love of ballooning was refueled. since then I've learned as much as I could get my hands on about balloons. I've watched youtube tutorials. paid for lessons, joined an international group of twisters, and started selling my balloons on facebook.

Then a really good friend of mine seen a photo on Pinterest of a Troll Balloon party and contacted me. I had never done anything that big before but decided I would try, and it was awesome!

Now I call myself a Balloon Decor Specialist and I am so happy to be sharing my creations with the world. Bringing smiles one balloon at a time.
